EDIT5: On second thought, it looks like that tail shouldn't be sticking out at all. A horse's tail is just hair, right? So no need to have anything for it to come out of. Lol, they'd look kinda funny without tails. But, yeah, just a disclaimer, because that's probably gonna get mentioned in the fanfic (how it looks like they don't have a tail when wearing the suit).

I'm hoping for a finished version of this featuring all of the astronauts, the mane 6 plus the wonderbolts, and possibly a few OC's.

Each Astronaut will have their own deviation, so this one won't go away, though
(Rainbow Dash will probably be grinning open-mouthed in the one with the WonderBolts, anyways )

The orange suit is modeled after a launch/entry suit, space shuttle era. In the fanfic, though, it's actually called an OPS (OPerationS) suit, because the crew wears it during any dangerous OPS (launch, entry, or major on-orbit delta-vee burns).

It's kinda like a spacesuit, except it plugs into the ship (doesn't have a lifepack), it's more for an emergency where the atmosphere in the ship becomes unbreathable or hostile, (fire and smoke, or if cabin air leaks into space, etc.) and it carries all the equipment to help them survive and get rescued if they have to bail out during launch or landing.

EDIT3: The banner:
The banner in the back shows three entities ascending from their world to Mars (the crescent at top, that's distorted by the ripples of the flag), in a time when Equestria needs to be united, the banner is all about unity. The three stars represent the three species of Equestria, Pegasi, Earth ponies, and unicorns. It's not specified which is which; it doesn't matter, because they're all equal and working side by side to achieve a common goal: To ascend to new heights, and explore new worlds, for all of Equestria!

When white light is split into a prism, it makes red, green, and blue. Together, and only together, do they make pure light!
